MARINERS SUCCUMB IN SECOND HALF NIGHTMARE

The Central Coast suffered an embarrassing five-one loss to Brisbane last night.

The Mariners led one-nil just after half time, when Fabio Ferreira scored his fourth goal of the campaign.

But just after the hour mark, it became a nightmare for the yellow and navy, with Socceroo striker Jamie Maclaren scoring a hat-trick in the space of just nine minutes.

German maestro Thomas Broich also found the back of the net, along with teenager Nicholas D’Agostino, who brought home this screamer in stoppage time.

Sunday’s F3 derby against the ninth-placed Jets will now be a desperate battle to avoid another wooden spoon.
