One of the Hunter Valley’s largest thermal coal trading partners ‘Taipower’ has visited Newcastle this week.
As part of the Australia-Taiwan Business Council conference, Hunter Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon welcomed the delegates amid parliament’s ongoing energy battle.
“Coal will have a very bright future in the Hunter Valley for many decades to come because of the strong export markets we’ve developed including Taiwan,” Mr Fitzgibbon says.
Taiwan is Australia’s fourth biggest coal export market.
