MAULES CREAK COAL MINE FINED FOR WITHHOLDING RECORDS

The Environment Watchdog has fined the Maules Creek Coal Mine $1,500, for failing to hand over records during an investigation.

The EPA was examining dust and fumes from blasting events at the site between October 20-15 and February 20-16.

It eventually found no breaches had been made, but says the company failed to provide complete documentation during the investigation.

Meanwhile, the watchdog is also urging the mine to implement recommendations made during an independent review into the site’s noise management procedures.
