HUNTER BANK CUSTOMERS CAUGHT UP IN BANK BUNGLE

Bank customers across the Hunter have been unable to access their money, due to a computer glitch.

The two-day outage is affecting customers of the Newcastle Permanent, Greater Bank and The Mutual, and is impacting payrolls, Centrelink payments and direct debits and credits.

“These batches of files which have debits and credits some have been running slowly and some have been incomplete”, says Newcastle Permanent CEO, Terry Millet.

The financial institutions say the fault is with a third-party payment provider, and it’s not clear when the issue will be resolved.
