GORDON OUT OF LIBERAL RACE

The race for Gosford in the upcoming state government by-election has taken an unexpected turn today…with Darkinjung Aboriginal Land Council boss Sean Gordon bowing out of the Liberal pre-selection race.

“for me it was a tough decision but for me it was more of a decision around timing not timing for myself because I genuinely believe I am ready to enter into politics but it was more timing around my family, Mr Gordon said.

Gordon had been tipped as a front runner for the candidacy.

It’s believed Jilly Pilon and former Gosford Councillor Deanna Bocking are still being considered for the Liberal endorsement.

A date for the by-election is yet to be set.

  1. A great Shame to see Sean bow out,he would have been the Strongest candidate with the biggest profile. Now we are left with Jilly who? And Deanna from where? An old councillor who fell over the line and did nothing in the previous Gosford City Council.
