SOUPZ ON LOOKING FOR NEW HOME
A charity that provides food and clothing for the homeless will soon itself become homeless.
Cessnock’s ‘Soupz On’ is looking for a new base, after learning the shop it currently uses will close on Friday.
“We need somewhere indoors, that gets us out of the elements out of the sun and rain, somewhere with electricity, somewhere with indoor storage so we can store all the dry goods, the clothes the blankets,” said Martin Howells.
The charity, which has provided more than 700 meals in less than a year, hopes to expand once it finds a permanent home.
