FIRE RIPS THROUGH THE ENTRANCE BOWLING CLUB

An historic Central Coast Bowling Club has been forced to temporarily close its doors, after fire ripped through the building overnight.

The blaze broke out in the gaming area of The Greens The Entrance just before midnight last night, tearing through the TAB, function room, main bar and lounge.

It took firefighters a number of hours to get the fire under control.

CEO of the Mingara Leisure Group, Paul Barnett, says he’s thankful no one was on the premises at the time.

“Our attention is on supporting our local community, members and our team.”

Founded in 1939, it was one of the first bowling clubs on the Central Coast.

Reporter Skaie Hull will have a full report in tonight’s news at 6pm.
