INVERELL TO WELCOME POLICE DOG UNIT

Inverell will become home to a pair of four-legged patrol officers next week.

New South Wales Police today confirming two police dogs and a trained handler will be stationed in town from Monday.

One of the pups has drug detection capabilities, while the other will be used in general duties.

The news comes just one month after Tamworth welcomed back its own police dog unit after a two-year vacancy period.
