The state government has today confirmed the old Newcastle courthouse will go to auction in December.
Proceeds from the sale of the Church Street property will go back to the Department of Justice.
Part of the old building is heritage listed and comes with clear guidelines for prospective purchases about the type of works allowed.
The state government has also revealed an artist’s impression of what the property could look like, with the site zoned as mixed use.
Colliers will conduct the auction on December 15.
