Newcastle Lord Mayor Jeff McCloy says his words have been taken out of context, and it won’t be up to him when it comes to staff cuts at council.
It comes as a union prepares to take him to the Industrial Relations Commission, for what it says are threats to the livelihoods of 1400 workers.
