DRIVER ALLEGEDLY NOTCHES TRIFECTA OF OFFENCES

A man has allegedly been caught speeding while on the phone and under the influence of alcohol in south-eastern Queenlsand this morning.

Just after 8 o’clock this morning, police allegedly intercepted a utility on the Cunningham Highway at Maryvale for speeding.

Police also allege the man was on his phone at the time of the speeding infringement.

The man was then subjected to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result. He later returned a 0.062 per cent blood alcohol concentration reading.

The 21-year-old man from Coorparoo has been issued with traffic infringement notices for exceeding the speed limit, and for using a hand-held mobile phone.

He has also been issued with a court notice for November 2 in relation to the drink driving offence.

His licence has been suspended for 24 hours.
