21-YEAR-OLD KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT IN THE STATE’S NORTH

A woman has died in a car crash on the state’s far north coast.

Shortly after midday, emergency services were called to the intersection of the Bruxner Highway and Plain Station Road in Tabulam, about 65-kilometres west of Casino, after two cars collided.

The 21-year-old driver of the Holden Commodore and three female passengers sustained minor injuries, while a fourth female passenger was airlifted to Lismore Base Hospital with serious injuries.

A fifth female passenger suffered fatal injuries.

The 72-year-old male driver of the Toyota Landcruiser and his two passengers, a 39-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman, also suffered minor injuries.

Police are investigating the incident. The road remains closed in both directions.
