WESTS RETURN TO WINNERS LIST WITH VICTORY OVER CENTRAL

In Newcastle rugby league, Wests have beaten Central by 10 points in tough conditions at St John Oval.

The Butcher Boys had a great early chance but the ball was proving tough to hold.

Instead it was the Rosellas who grabbed the first try when Callan Richardson darted over.

Sam Keenan added the extras to make it 6-0.

Central suffered another blow when Matt Baker was floored by Warren Schillings.

The penalty made the score 6-2.

The Butcher Boys set up their first lead thanks to an impressive run from Tim Penny.

But Wests regained the advantage, Simon Williams left defenders in his wake, as the Rosellas moved back into equal top spot.
