Police Commissioner Ian Stewart says the biggest restructuring of our force since the Fitzgerald days will impact on the region, but in a positive way.
He says, while hundreds of middle and senior managers will be offered redundancies, there’ll be more frontline officers.
“There may be some apparent changes in numbers but the staffing on the ground will be enhanced the service the community sees will be enhanced they’ll see more police on the road.”
While Queensland’s policing regions will be cut from eight to five, the Gold Coast remains unchanged.
