IGA CLEANER BASHED IN DAWN AMBUSH

A young cleaner is in hospital with a fractured eye socket and cheekbone after being brutally bashed in a violent dawn ambush at an Ormeau supermarket.

Four robbers pounced on three IGA employees, tying them up and blindfolding them.

One cleaner was unhurt, the manager was punched but 25 year old cleaner Jacob Kelly was the worst off.

Police say the same IGA was targeted hours earlier in an unrelated incident.

“The premesis after a break and enter. And I think from now on, after this lesson, if my son recovers fine which I hope he does there should be security for these people who work in these centres,” the victim’s father Wayne Kelly says.
