Small businesses in Moree and Narrabri will form part of a Fair Work Ombudsman campaign, aiming to crack down on compliance issues.
Inspectors will conduct random checks to ensure employers are paying correct minimum hourly rates, overtime and penalty rates, and providing appropriate meal breaks.
In the North West, agricultural and fishing services will be scrutinised, as well as the road freight industry.
Up to 250 businesses across the state will be audited over the next few months.
