LISMORE RATES TO INCREASE

Lismore residents can expect to fork out around $45 more in council rates next financial year,  after the the independent pricing and regulatory tribunal approved a 3.6% increase.

The rise is expected to generate an additional $500,000 above the rate peg for 2016-2017, which will fund council’s Biodiversity Management Strategy.

Meanwhile, Clarence Valley Council has been approved for a temporary 6.5% increase for one year.
