GOLD FOR AUSSIES AT HOCKEY’S MASTERS WORLD CUP

Australia has claimed two gold medals at hockey’s Masters World Cup in Newcastle, winning the over 65 and 70 finals.

Leading one-nil in the 65s, the Aussies did their best to intimidate their English rivals.

Keeper Colin Kimber kept the visitors in the game, shutting down Ray Northwood.

Santa Bansal and Alan Muller went close to sending the match to extra time, but Australia held on to win gold.
