Muswellbrook’s mayor has issued a ‘please explain’, after the town’s proposed bypass again missed out on federal funding.
There was no mention of the long-awaited project in the budget, despite $10-million being allocated to the Scone rail bypass.
“Last year’s federal budget nothing, this year’s federal budget nothing. Three years of forward estimates, nothing,” said Muswellbrook Mayor Martin Rush.
Mr Rush says the state promised last year that the Commonwealth would match the $60-million it’s allocated… but he’s yet to see any evidence of that.
