COUNCIL CRACKING DOWN ON PARKING AT PAT MORTON LOOKOUT

Following an increase in reports of illegal camping and lewd behaviour at Pat Morton Lookout, Ballina Shire Council is now cracking down.

At today’s traffic committee meeting, it was agreed noise-in parking will be mandated.

It was also decided vehicles longer than six metres will not be allowed to park at the northern end of the lot.

“There will be signage there so that rangers can actually police it, at the moment there’s no signage and we thought that was the best way to go,” Ballina Mayor, David Wright, said.

The mayor says signs will be installed as soon as possible.
