HEAT MARCHING INTO NSW AS SUMMER ENDS

Summer is dropping the anchor and refusing to leave as New South Wales heats up heading into autumn.

As a low pressure trough lingers over central NSW, warm air will be dragged across the state from mid week with help from northerly winds. Not many places will escape the heat, with the mercury set to reach 40 degrees in many-a-town.

Tamworth and the Hunter Valley can expect the heat to hover in the mid 30’s throughout the week, although temps will be slightly lower in coastal regions.

The north coast is likely to be the place to go if you want to escape the blistering heat. Byron Bay will only warm to the mid-twenties all week with some showers in the area with help from humid onshore winds.

Looking further ahead, the following week still looks fairly hot across much of western NSW, however not likely as hot as this week.
