A lapse in attention is being blamed for a four car smash that closed one of Lismore’s major arterial roads earlier today.
Police say three cars had been queuing at roadworks on Bangalow road, when a fourth vehicle failed to stop, slamming into the rear.
A truck involved in the crash then rolled down an embankment, after its driver got out to survey the damage without engaging the handbrake.
One driver was taken to Lismore Base Hospital where he’s in a stable condition.
