TAMWORTH REMAINS NEUTRAL ON PROPOSED MERGER
Big crowds are expected at Walcha’s Ex Services Club tomorrow morning, for council’s Fit for the Future public inquiry.
It will give residents a chance to voice their concerns over a proposed merger with Tamworth Regional Council.
Tamworth will also host two sessions that afternoon.
If the two councils merge, Walcha will form less than four per cent of the entire regional population.
“At the end of the day the delegate in charge of those meetings will report back to the minister and he can either take his advice or do something other.”
The Tamworth meetings will be held at West Diggers, the first between three and five, and the second from seven until 10pm.
