A man’s body has been found in waters at Wangi Wangi, in Lake Macquarie this morning.
About 11am, emergency services were called to the shore near Kent Street, following reports of a body in the water.
A man’s body was retrieved, and police established a crime scene.
A cause of death has not been established, but police believed the body is that of a 66-year-old local man.
He is yet to be formally identified.
Investigations continue.
