LAKE MACQUARIE COUNCIL INSPECTS BUTTERFLY CAVE

Lake Macquarie councillors and staff this afternoon inspected West Wallsend’s Butterfly Cave, amid concerns the Aboriginal site will be impacted by a nearby housing development.

  1. So the State Government could demand that the developer extend the buffer zone ????
    How did the developer EVER get approval for such a joke as 20 metres. Why is it not possible for Lake Macquarie Council to inform those concerned of the delineation of that zone….??? Plans and proposals have to have been filed with them surely….
    Or perhaps the State Government intends to buy back the blocks that are closest to the cave to extend the reserve and protect the cave ???
