FUNDING FOR RESEARCH INTO TEACHERS’ MENTAL HEALTH
The Teachers Health Fund says demand for mental health services among teachers aged 24 to 29 has doubled in the past five years.
To better understand why, it’s established a new foundation, which will help fund several research programs.
The Hunter Institute of Mental Health and HMRI have each received $50,000 to investigate the issue.
“So it’s important through these programs we identify not just what the cause of the problems are, but potential solutions to those problems so we can put those solutions in place,” said Teacher’s Health Fund CEO Brad Joyce.
