Plans to build a new marine rescue tower in Ballina are a step closer, with council calling for tenders for the $2-million project.
The facility will replace the existing tower, which has been deemed too unsafe by the organisation’s commissioner.
Tenders close on November 26, with construction hoped to start early next year.
