DRIVERS CONGRATULATED FOLLOWING HIGHWAY BLITZ
Drivers across the Mid North Coast have been praised for their behaviour, as police wrap up their six-week traffic campaign, Operation Arrive Alive.
Manning-Great Lakes Police conducted more than 2,500 breath tests over the final weekend of the blitz.
“it was a really pleasing result that we only got five persons detected drink driving and there were almost 100 people given speeding tickets though so I guess that’s our only concern over that period, Chief Insp. Christine George said.
But with many still making their way home from holidays, police are urging motorists to drive safely.
“to everyone to still make sure that they stop and take their fatigue breaks and travel safely most people will be going back to school this week so remember that schools zones are back in force,” she said.
