Tamworth Regional Council says it’s disappointed with the public’s response to the online bat survey, with less than 200 having responded so far.
It’s hoped a community-developed Flying Fox Camp Management Plan can be implemented to reduce their impact on the city.
About 80,000 of the pests have taken up residence on the banks of the Peel River, along with another 3,000 in Barraba.
Residents have until the end of this week to make their opinion known.
