A truly amazing group of 30 ladies presented a cheque worth $442,000 to the Calvary Mater Hospital today.
The hospital’s Auxiliary Cancer Carers – all volunteers – work tirelessly throughout the year to raise money, holding raffles, fashion parades, and selling lolly bags.
” It goes towards equipment for the care and comfort of the patients in the hospital – we did buy a scalp cooling machine which is worth about $50,000.”
This year, the carers raised almost $100,000 more than they did in 2014.
