The victim of a shark attack at Ballina is in a critical condition and has been airlifted to Gold Coast Hospital.
The man has been confirmed to be a 32-year-old local who was body boarding with two friends at the time of the attack.
Light House Beach, and all beaches within Ballina Shire are closed for the next 24 hours.
