State Labor MP Sonia Hornery says she’s seriously considering a tilt at federal politics.
The Member for Wallsend confirmed on Wednesday she’s interested in the seat of Charlton, set to be vacated by Greg Combet.
Ms Hornery says the rank and file in the electorate want to be able to choose a candidate, rather than have the ALP parachute one in.
The party’s administrative committee will meet on Friday to determine whether she is eligible.
