Lake Macquarie sailor Chris Nicholson can finally resume his duties as skipper of Team Vestas Wind in the Volvo Ocean Race.
The yacht has been lowered back into the water in Portugal, six months after it ran aground off Mauritius.
“We’ve had our troubles along the way. But I’m really proud of what we’ve been able to do.”
The team will rejoin the race on Monday.
