PILOT DIES IN LIGHT PLANE CRASH

A pilot has died, after his light plane crashed in thick bushland in the Hunter Valley this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Lovedale just after midday.

Police believe the pilot took off from Cessnock Airport, before crashing a short distance away.

“We’ve established a crime scene and New South Wales police will be investigating with the assistance of the Recreational Aircraft of Australia.”
