SHOULD RELAY FOR LIFE BE ALCOHOL FREE?
The Cancer Council is seeking community feedback on whether Tamworth’s ‘Relay for Life’ should be alcohol free.
The organisation says it’s considering banning alcohol, to make it a more family-friendly event.
This year, the relay will be held at the local showground, to cater for the growth in numbers and provide better security.
“I think probably more from the underage drinking side of things than anything else, it is a party but it’s a party with a purpose and we really want to bring that back to Relay.”
The Cancer Council hopes the event in October will raise $100,000.
