EVENING UPDATE

There’s relief on the mid north coast tonight after a nine year old girl was found alive and well this morning.

Nine-year-old Natalya Franklin was missing in bushland for almost 24 hours after falling down an embankment.

 

33-year-old Katherine Abdullah has been sentenced to more than eight years for stabbing her cousin to death.

 

The body of Andrew Chan has been laid to rest following a large funeral at Hillsong Church in Sydney.

 

And South Sydney has taken an almighty hit, with Issac Luke revealing he’s leaving the premiers and heading home to New Zealand.

  1. Regarding the evening news 8.5.15 and the female news reader beginning the story of Andrew Chans funeral with the statement, ‘they were no heroes’.
    I was quite taken aback… there was no doubt by her tone and expression of her own negative opinion of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukarmaran and the whole sad affair. My understanding is that the news should be reported without personal bias, i then switched over to ABC news who gave a balanaced reporting of the funeral.
    Im not intersted in the personal views of the news reader personal views or NBNs personal views on whether they were heroes or villians, just read the facts please.
