A father has been found guilty after arranging the marriage of his 12-year-old daughter.
The man who cannot be named, claimed he was saving her “from the sin of premarital sex.”
He has been on trial in the Sydney District Court after his daughter married a 26-year-old student in 2013.
The court heard today the father was concerned his daughter “was showing a sexual interest in boys” and that “she couldn’t have sex out of marriage.”
He is on bail, but facing a maximum 14 years in prison.
