Coffs Harbour’s famous Big Banana is about to get a makeover, with plans to build a $1.6-million water park on the site.
The new attraction will include a 96-metre long slide and a raft ride spanning more than 100 metres.
General Manager Michael Lockman says despite the major development, the Big Banana will still remain in it’s traditional spot.
Construction is due to commence in May by Coffs Harbour based company Swimplex Aquatics, with completion expected by September.
