TELE-HEALTH CONFERENCING SET FOR THE NORTHERN RIVERS

The state government has today announced a new tele-health service for the Northern Rivers.

$3.5 million worth of funding has been committed to trialling the new system in the region for the next two years.

Together with the Minister for Mental Health Jai Rowell, Lismore MP Thomas George welcomed the new technology.

“This way they will be able to get the treatment or advice on treatment immediately and that will certainly change the delivery of mental health services and support through out this whole North Coast area.”

For rural and regional patients, the video-conferencing will operate 24 hours, 7 days a week.
