A body surfer suffered a minor wound to his foot, after being bitten by a small shark at Merewether Beach last night.
Meanwhile a lifeguard spotted a 1.8-metre shark off Bar Beach this morning.
Warning signs have been erected and lifeguards will continue to patrol the area throughout the day.
Bar, Dixon and Merewether beaches were already closed due to dangerous surf conditions.
