The final event from the past weeks weather system is getting ready to move in with a cluster of storms and associated rain band moving towards the Central Coast and Hunter tonight.
There is a lot of moisture trapped in the atmosphere over our heads at the moment and it has to come down somewhere. The monsoon trough situated a long way south that has been causing tropic like conditions has an associated low and that is going to pass over tapping in that moisture.
Storms with heavy periods of rain are expected across most of the region over the next 48 hours as the system moves north.
Isolated areas of flash flooding and severe, damaging storms are likely.
