Another hurdle was cleared today for the much-needed Rankin Park to Jesmond section of Newcastle’s Inner City Bypass.
The Roads Minister announced Aurecon Australia has won the contract for the concept design and environmental assessment.
Construction of the $280-million final stage of the bypass is expected to begin in 2017.
The 3.4 kilometre project is designed to ease traffic congestion along Lookout Road.
