A 12-year-old girl has been praised by police for taking control of a car after her father collapsed at the steering wheel from a suspected heart attack.
Police say the girl grabbed the wheel and avoided oncoming traffic after the car veered onto the wrong side of Carnley Avenue at Kotara at around 8.40pm.
Paramedics took a 51-year-old man to hospital but he couldn’t be revived.
