The New England Bush Fire Management Committee is inviting residents to comment on its Draft Risk Management Plan, which will be on exhibition from tomorrow at most New England council chambers.
It’s an updated document, mapping and describing the level of bush fire risk across the region, while also putting forward proposals on how to manage that threat.
Meanwhile, the Rural Fire Service has suspended fire permits in Armidale, Guyra, Uralla and Walcha, effective tomorrow until Monday.
A rapid aerial response team will be on stand-by at Armidale airport tomorrow and Saturday in preparation for any bush fires that may ignite.
