A Windale man has been charged with murder after a woman’s body was found in a reserve at Lake Macquarie yesterday.
Renee Mitchell was found by a member of the public in the Bangalay Reserve at Windale at around 6:30am.
Five hours later, police stopped a vehicle on Myall Road at Cardiff and arrested a 66-year-old man.
He was taken to Charlestown Police Station and charged.
The man will appear before Newcastle Local Court today.
