Despite months of protests, Gunnedah’s controversial new Visitors Information Centre is being officially opened tonight.
The move to the Chandos Street location has seen the road changed to one-way northbound, and resulted in Gunnedah residents sending over 800 faxes to Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson questioning the competency of council.
Mayor Owen Hasler says residents had 28 days to voice their opinion during the consultancy process, and the CBD move had to happen to make tourist access easier.
