Greater Taree City councillors have asked for more information from Hunter New England Health following news it plans to close the Nita Reed Dialysis Centre in Taree.
The government body announced the changes on Thursday, saying the infrastructure at the Nita Reed centre isn’t suitable for future use.
The public dialysis chairs will be relocated to Forster Private Hospital, and dialysis will still be provided at the Manning Base Hospital.
