Police are keen to speak to a man seen outside a house in Yamba, after five firearms were stolen from a safe overnight.
Neighbours say they saw a man running away from the house on Oyster Channel Road at about 6.30.
Knowing the house was unoccupied, they went inside and found it had been ransacked.
The man is described as being Caucasian and about 35-40 years of age.
Police are also investigating links between similar break-ins in the area.
