UNSECURED OIL CAP CAUSE OF 2014 PLANE CRASH

The Australian Transport and Safety Bureau has revealed an unsecured oil cap is to blame for a plane crash near Inverell airport in 2014, which claimed the life of a local teacher and seriously injured her husband.

Shortly after take off, oil appeared on the windscreen and when the pilot attempted to land, the plane flipped.

Passenger Caro Harding died in a Sydney hospital the following day after suffering critical burns.
