A 72-year-old Scone man has died after a head-on car crash in the Hunter Valley this morning.
At around 7:30am, emergency services were called to the New England Highway at Ravensworth north of Singleton, where a Holden utility and a Ford Territory collided.
The man driving the Holden died at the scene.
A woman in her 30s, who was driving the other car, was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say they’re still determining the cause of the crash, but weather conditions are likely to have played a part.
The highway remains closed and diversions are in place.
